draws your attention to the sculptures."

in sculptures is more promenent. Glare on pictures in other rooms

shadow lines across the tops - especially the Monet & Renoir
- seem more prominent and bothersome. Is this a problem that can
be fixed?

think the Renoir was actually a canvas that he planned to
re-paint or reuse. I've often done this myself. I hope you got it
for free or at cost."

too warm - if the intensity of this light is no greater than the
usual, I could say it is most effective in accenting the true
colors."

brightness and sharpness to the hues. I also feel the background
color of the walls is an important factor. The lighting is a
definite improvement"

vivid and bright the pastels appear in the Impressionist
paintings however, I credited it to contrast of the dark wall,
however as I sit here looking at the earlier 19th Century
paintings, they too, despite their darker colors and tones seem
more vivid."

highlights the paintings and frames which are often washed out on
white. The skies & clouds are vibrant. I work in an
interactive science museum & we have to introduce small bits
of color & would love to experiment more."
8/12/98 I've visited all the museum/gallery spaces in Rochester
and have to say this is the most well lit. My feeling about the
color temperature is that it might be a bit cool for my tastes.
I've also visited MOMA, the Metropolitan, National Gallery of Art
in D.C. and Hirshorn and this gallery seems brighter in
comparison."
8/14/98 "The lighting is very crisp & invigorating - I
enjoy being in this lighting. Easier and more stimulating to pay
attention to the newly lit detail of the art. Yes… I like
it, I do."

it easier to view the art in a seemingly natural environment. I
like it a lot."

lighting. It is less stressful to the viewer, who is often
staining to see details at traditional museum lighting levels.
All in all, a very sucessful experiment and one that warrants
expansion."

this room when I come in here. You can see things clear looking
at the painting. With the washer women they look like they are
walking out of the painting. It is so pretty in here. Good job.
